2016 is over, 2017 is here. Yippee. Happy new year to all of you who take the time to read my ramblings. It is appreciated :). Another year is over, so much has happened, so much has changed, however, as this is not a political blog, I will refrain from commenting on any current affairs. Instead, I am going to celebrate some beauty discoveries and champions, whilst welcoming an old friend back into the fold. Enjoy!
Best beauty treatment
Guinot’s hydraclean facial at Harrod’s Urban Retreat has been my favourite treatment this year, and perfect for the sensitive-skinned among us. I recommend going to Urban Retreat because it truly is good value, despite it being in Harrods.

Best non-toxic product
The biggest challenge when dealing with sensitive skin, is dealing with sensitive skin in underarms. I finally found a non-toxic deodorant in the form of an alum block from Fèret Parfumeur, which actually works, and one that I’ve even convinced my sister to use too.

Return of an old friend
An exfoliator that has made it back on to my bathroom shelf after a hiatus is Decleor’s phytopeel, which not only exfoliates but also hydrates. Not a dry patch in sight. Sheer luxury.

Best eye liner
An eye liner I can’t live without, and which I have recommended to so many people, belongs to the glamour-inducing Charlotte Tilbury. Her colour chameleon eye pencils are just the right level of smudginess and shimmer.

Best lipstick(s)
I couldn’t decide between these two. They are both brilliant at staying on lips whilst being highly pigmented and non-drying, even when worn day after day. No more flakey lips. Duwop and Marc Jacobs beauty, I thank you.
Best new haircare product
Ouai’s hair mask has made a solid impression on me and a solid fix of my frizzy, damaged and unruly hair. It makes me sleek :).

Best beauty tool
Brush cleaning is so easy with this solid brush cleaner from Japonesque. Seriously.

Best secret weapon
Becca’s peach colour corrector has helped me come to terms with the dark circles under my eyes and accept them. I can’t get rid of them, so I hide them instead :).

Best new product launch*
A surprising new find, which has a permanent home in my bathroom, is Samaya’s range of ayurvedic skincare. So many good products – I love all three – hydrating cleanser, treatment oil and moisturiser. I see good things happening for this brand in 2017.
So, that’s my lot for this year. I have chosen and paid for every product on this page, except the one marked with *. Do you have any champions from 2016 that you will be carrying through to 2017?
