There’s my hero product in the middle
A tip for those of you who don’t want to go to the expense of buying a separate moisturiser for winter – just add a drop of oil to your moisturiser to give it that extra boost in winter. Simple.
No need to splurge on a new cream unless you really really want to, in my opinion. I know this is rich coming from someone who has more moisturisers than can be counted on hands and feet, but this wasn’t always the case. I spent years using oils to boost moisturisers, even making my own oil blend for night time (which I still do).

Marula seed oil
Oils perfect for winter include rosehip oil, my favourite being Pai’s rosehip oil of course. Others that can be used are organic sweet almond oil (cheaper) or marula seed oil (not so cheap). I found argan and coconut oils to be too thick for skin, sitting on top of it and feeling greasy, although both are great for hair as a pre-shampoo treatment.
