Drinking green tea just got a whole lot nuttier with Kusmi Tea

Green tea with almond

Almond green tea

Green tea is an acquired taste – there is no doubt about it, and even the most dedicated drinker will tell you that the benefits are what make it enjoyable, and not necessarily the taste. This dedicated green tea drinker has finally found a green tea she actually enjoys drinking! Kusmi Tea’s green tea with almonds (love love love almonds) is a firm favourite now. Their green tea is from China, lightly flavoured with almonds. The taste is smooth without any of the bitterness associated with green tea. The almond flavour comes through as a hint and is not overpowering at all. I think the loose leaf varieties make a smoother and less bitter tea, unlike the bagged ones, even when flavoured with jasmine or lemon.

Green tea is packed full of anti-oxidants which is great for skin as they help to mop up free radicals which are what cause skin ageing. It is claimed that drinking green tea may also help with weight loss, cholesterol and prevention of Alzheimer’s. I don’t know if any of these claims are true, but what I do know is that centuries of Chinese tea drinkers can’t be wrong about how healthy it is. It has become so popular that it is even making its way into ice cream.

Kusmi Tea have been making tea since 1867 (147 years) and are based out of Paris. They have a shop on Marylebone High Street where I bought this particular tin from. Who knew that the French made tea this good! They sell all varieties of tea, and not just green, making tea drinking a bit more interesting than what is pushed at us by the supermarkets.
