I think I change my serum as often as Kanye West rants on stage. Way too often 🙂
I am just not all that loyal to one serum but I am loyal to a type of serum – non-synthetic or artificial, preservative and mineral oil free, derived from nature and designed to boost hydration and luminosity of skin. I need all the help I can get now that skin is getting older, but I am steering clear of anti-ageing serums because they can be quite ‘active’ causing my sensitive skin to react.
The latest serum I am slathering without reservation is cell food from elemental herbology (I already use their moisturiser, which has helped my dehydrated skin from being flakey all summer). Elemental herbology products are made in England, do not contain common allergens and use plant compounds, herbal extracts, EFAs, botanicals, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants, that are all responsibly sourced, to create ‘balance and harmony’ in skin. They are better at telling their own story, suffice it to say that they harness the power of plants and herbs, which is just the type of skincare line I love.
Back to cell food radiance & vitality serum itself – it is an award winner (Bazaar beauty’s best of the best 2014) and a best seller online – 3 patents, 14 actives, and 6 anti-oxidants later, the serum delivers a mix of proteins and vitamins to help bring skin back to health. Like the cell plumping moisturiser I use, it does exactly what it says on the tin – provide some radiance and vitality to tired looking skin. Layering the moisturiser over this serum really does make skin glow with no blotchy bits either (anyone with sensitive skin will know what I am talking about).
There is just one thing I don’t like and that is the packaging – the glass bottle looks beautiful but there is leakage through the pipette so every time you ‘shake before use’ some of the precious serum is lost and at £45 for 30ml I don’t want that to happen. But it does look pretty in my bathroom 🙂
Love cell food! Such a shame about the packaging – also hard to get out when down to about a third.
I’m worried about just that! I have one of their eye creams too and the pump bottle means I can’t take it away with me because it will leak. But the product inside is divine! X
