A primer to blur lines and illuminate skin – Emma Hardie protect & prime with SPF30

I love love love this primer from Emma Hardie. I have tried so, so, so, so many and finally can commit to this one. The amazing face protect & prime is the perfect base to use with my cover fx custom cover drops – they blend perfectly, and gives skin a radiant glow. The primer doesn’t absorb into skin by the end of the day, so skin looks (almost) the same as when first applied.

The fact that it not only primes skin, but has broad spectrum SPF 30 to protect skin from damaging UVA and UVB, whilst adding a radiance and glow to skin, is an absolute dream for me. It doesn’t clog pores, is suitable for sensitive skin, isn’t drying and is, in fact, hydrating. Oh, and did I mention the glow?! The glow is not of the shiny variety but the healthy luminosity I miss from my younger days, which means photos don’t have me looking greasy.

Key ingredients are mongongo oil, oat extract and vitamin E – all of which work together to protect skin from premature ageing and the damaging effects of environmental aggressors. A Cosmopolitan beauty lab award winner in 2015 for best daily SPF just confirms my passion for this primer.

It is not cheap at £45 for 50ml but I think it is worth every penny. I use one pump (less than a pea sized amount) and hope this bottle lasts a good few months (6 months would make me happy).
