January masks – Eve Lom rescue mask. I had to buy a whole pot just for myself

January, for me, is all about taking care and pampering myself as a reward for all my hard work in 2014. So I turn to masks and rituals that compliment this feeling of hibernation and renewal. I haven’t set any new years resolutions, instead easing myself into this year with comfort and care (I don’t stick to the resolutions anyway!).

Eve Lom rescue mask

First up is Eve Lom’s rescue mask. After having tried a sample just once, I fell in love and had to buy a HUGE pot for myself, which I have been using every week, religiously. I LOVE the stuff (could you guess?).

So, if you are looking for a mask to detoxify and decongest your skin after an indulgent end to the year, then this is probably the best one to go for.

Key ingredients

Camphor, almond and honey-infused kaolin clay work together to calm, detoxify, decongest, and soften skin. Apply to cleansed skin and leave on for 20 minutes, after which rub off with dry fingers, giving a final rinse with a warm muslin cloth. The exfoliating action removes any dead skin cells without being too harsh, even for sensitive skins.

Results

Skin is clear and supple feeling, plumped up and youthful. I’ve noticed skin is clearer after regular use, and fine lines appear diminished. It’s helping ease the dehydration in my skin too – a constant winter / cold weather issue for me.

I haven’t gone into much detail here – a more in-depth review is available here. A 100ml pot is £55 and worth every penny. Selfridges has them for sale at 10% off in their January sales. Go on, treat yourself! 🙂

More masks tomorrow.
