January masks no 2 – Malin + Goetz intensive hair conditioner

Malin + Goetz intensive hair mask / conditioner

Aimed at sensitive skinned beauties (and hunks), Malin + Goetz is a New York based brand that is only 10 years old (hard to believe considering its popularity). Their philosophy is one I respect – against animal testing, no synthetic ingredients, effective products that are suitable for sensitive skin and scalp.

I use their gentle Neroli shampoo, sage styling cream and this intensive hair conditioner, which doubles as a mask. A recent (2 year old) discovery, I am a fan. It’s true that their products are gentle on skin and hair – my scalp doesn’t itch nor flakes, so I know it is not irritated. Hair is soft and manageable, helping reverse some of the damage from hair colourants and heat styling. It doesn’t leave a residue (silicone free) which allows for better absorption of the other goodies contained within. It’s true when they claim that elasticity and lustre is restored.

Key ingredients

EFAs (essential fatty acids), natural plant extracts, and wheat amino acids (the combination restores damaged hair), grapeseed (strengthening and anti-oxidant properties), meadow foam seed (nourishes), olive oil (nourishes and conditions) and almond (fragrance and colour from my favourite food) are the key ingredients.

I have fine hair, and this conditioner helps make it feel stronger and less fly-away. Sadly, my constant battle with frizz is still not entirely won. There is definitely less frizz but it’s not disappeared completely. That may be due to the hard water in London…
