Another January hibernation companion – this tube was a freebie after a PR took pity on me following a reaction to a face mask a few months ago. Very kind of them. I finally got round to trying it out and am loving it.
Aubrey Organics hydrating mask is perfect for sensitive skins – NSF organic certification provides reassurance that there are no nasties that will irritate skin. It is formulated to calm allergic reactions and irritated skin. I must admit I didn’t use it to calm my allergic reaction to that mask because I was just too scared to put anything more on my skin. Since then, though, when skin has become irritated, and I have used it to good effect.
Key ingredients
Aloe and sea aster work together to calm and soothe skin, whilst hydrating and restoring moisture balance. Oatmeal and rice spheres act as gentle exfoliators. Prickly pear protects and firms skin, preventing damaging free radicals from forming.
Skin is restored with a calmness and freshness after just 5 minutes. It’s a quick and easy mask to use when a hydrating boost is needed. I use it because my skin gets really dehydrated in winter. I am not sure whether it’s because it is harder to drink as much water as in the summer, or of it is the effects of central heating vs cold wind.
A bit about Aubrey Organics
A 40 year old American brand who have gained organic status. They don’t use parabens, petrochemicals, artificial colours or fragrances. Their products are cruelty free and vegan-friendly. It doesn’t look like the whole range is organic certified though, although I may have misinterpreted the information on their website (it could do with a bit of work – it’s not easy to find the information needed).
I didn’t know much about them until I was offered this sample. I love their philosophy. Give them a try if you have sensitive skin and are looking for something that is reasonably priced compared to other organic ranges. They seem to have something for all skin types and conditions.
* Please note this is a PR sample I used and liked, which is why I am writing about it.
