Wow, what can I say. I am a convert. I have been a loyal fan of NARS primers for years, but I think Laura Mercier’s foundation primer is just as good (it was included as a freebie with one of my Space NK purchases).
The primer is popular with beauty editors and make-up artists alike, appearing in magazines as the recommended primer, and it truly delivers. It leaves my skin feeling super smooth ready for my NARS tinted moisturiser. My make up lasts all day, with pores and fine lines appearing blurred and no breakouts thereafter. Skin feels protected and hydrated, without looking greasy.
The secret to it keeping skin looking fresh all day is that it is loaded with moisture, creating a barrier or layer of protection, so make-up doesn’t melt or disappear into skin by the end of the day. That layer of protection is one of the main reasons I rarely go outside bare faced – I feel I need a barrier between my skin and city dirt / pollutants / my fingers (of course, I wouldn’t want to scare people by appearing sans make-up!)
Even though it is a foundation primer, it is versatile enough to be used under tinted moisturiser, or on its own if your skin doesn’t need any help or is in need of a break from make-up. Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturiser used to be a favourite of mine, so it is no surprise that their primer is such big hit.
