Lipstick Queen’s frog prince lipstick…morphs from an emerald green to a rose pink in under a minute. The hotter your lips, the bigger the transformation!

Lipstick Queen's frog prince - looks innocent enough

Lipstick Queen’s frog prince – looks innocent enough

I have a confession. I went a bit crazy taking photos of this lipstick – 26 shots, of which only 5 made the cut. I was mesmerised by the green lipstick of the frog prince.

This is definitely an instance where my inner magpie kick in, and I am attracted to the gimmick and theatre of the frog prince. But don’t let that fool you, because it is truly innovative – a bespoke lipstick that changes colour according to the ph level, heat and shade of your lips, creating a rose pink that is unique to you! I am mesmerised, watching the shade change from a clear slick to a dark rose on my lips (them being dark to start with). I think it looks quite a natural colour on mine, and it seems to develop throughout the day into a deeper colour, staining lips somewhat, thereby minimising reapplication.

I love Lipstick Queen‘s lipsticks of which I have 2 in my collection, this being my 3rd. This particular one is semi-sheer, and highly moisturising with shea butter and vitamin E. Her packaging is very mystical and reminds me of being a child and playing with children’s makeup (in fact, I think that is what she is trying to appeal to here – our inner child, fantasising about meeting our prince charming, having to kiss lots of frogs, etc, etc). Have a look at the blurb on her website describing this lipstick – it plays to our imagination.

It costs £22 so isn’t cheap, and can be bought in Space NK stores or online. I love it and need to refrain from constantly applying it as if it is a lip balm. Testament to the frog prince being so hydrating that I treat it like a lip balm, albeit a very expensive one. This magpie is happy 🙂

My rating

I score it a 9/10. 1 point lost for being so expensive.

Aren’t you curious about what it will look like on yours? I am!

Yes, the packaging is special isn’t it?! I didn’t end up keeping the box though – I have too much stuff already 🙂

You know, I think it is expensive for a lipstick. You’re definitely paying for the gimmick. But I have it now and I know it will last a while because I never seem to finish lipsticks!
