My first official assignment as a beauty blogger. Off to gather as much insider knowledge as possible from the folk behind the scenes of beauty salons and spas. I brought home a small bag of goodies. Not many freebies at all, except from the lovely folk at Carita, whose little pack I shall try with relish and report on.
I was a happy bunny before I left home for the show (and even happier when I returned), and before I left I made sure I was fully groomed ready to make a good impression. Brows shaped…check, lashes slicked…check, a bit of lip gloss…check. Shame though as I was asked to be a model in a couple of demonstrations. Flattered? Yes! BUT it may have been because I looked like I needed some help!
Having wandered round the show I ended up gravitating towards some old favourites. When in doubt, you can trust in these guys. They are salon stalwarts. Completely reliable, effective and natural. Darphin and Decleor can be found in my bathroom, and of friends I’ve managed to convert through my enthusiasm. I’ve had facials by both brands and they are truly the best. They focus on massage and lymphatic drainage, stimulating the skin and bringing blood and all that is enriching in it to the surface. No harsh extractions and no face pack left on for the majority of your appointment. They truly spend time on loving your skin. French premium skincare at its best!
Carita, I want to try your facials! This is a premium beauty brand set up by 2 Spanish sisters in Paris. I’ve heard lots of good things about them. Seems that they have a fantastic anti ageing range which I am keen to try. So, watch this space for some more reports. You never know I may convert!
I finally got to meet these guys. Human + Kind. Beautiful, colourful brand of ethical skincare. I hope they get the following they so rightfully deserve! I have their hand cream and am a convert already.
Another French powerhouse is Caudalie. They have opened a salon in Covent Garden. I don’t know much about them as I have not used any of their products however I have heard great things about their Beauty Elixir, which is supposed to be amazing and has a cult following of its own. This lip balmer is yet to try it out, and with a name like Beauty Elixir I have hopes of emerging gorgeous as Cleopatra! I shall be paying a visit to their new salon too. Apparently they will be offering treatments only available in France. Exclusive.
And finally, it was great to see the South African stand flying their flag. This is for all my South African friends. I miss you.
I love seeing what people got up to at Pro Beauty, glad you had a good time. I think you will LOVE Caudelie; fantastic brand! x
Ah thanks! I think I will love them too 🙂
