Yu-be is Japan’s no 1 selling moisturising skin cream. It’s for very very very dry skin (scaly feet and elbows)

Yu-Be moisturising skin cream

The smell of this moisturising cream from Yu-Be is medicinal – I think it is the camphor in it. An all-round dry skin cream which is glycerin-based. It also contains vitamin B2, C, E, sodium hyaluronate and camphor, which all helps to smooth rough skin.

You can use it on lips and skin. I’m not a fan of it on my lips – the camphor tastes weird, and I don’t like the cooling sensation on first application. I don’t think it’s all that moisturising for lips, but seems to be good enough for elbows and cuticles. They suggest using it on feet, which I can imagine would be quite a nice sensation at the end of the day – cooling and softening at the same time (there isn’t enough in this sample tube* to spread over feet).

It can be bought in Space NK in-store and online, and costs £13.50 for a 33ml tube. Personally, I prefer my Weleda skin food for tackling really dry skin.

My rating

I score it a 6/10. 1 point lost for the camphor smell (too medicinal for me), 1 point lost for yukky sensation on lips, 1 point lost for being so expensive, and a final point lost for not being any better than my favourite Weleda skin food.

What do you think of Yu-Be?
